Yoga Therapy For The Mind – 8-week course with Rebecca Bieraugel

This programme from The Minded Institute, is designed to provide skills to provide strategies for short term relief from anxiety and depression and to foster deep transformation in the long term.

The course is grounded in knowledge of yoga and mindfulness, neuroscience and medicine and supported by psychotherapeutic principles.

What is included in the course?

  • It has eight sessions
  • Each session is two hours long
  • A manual is provided along with an iTunes link for home practice
  • Students are given assignments for home practice

What are the benefits to the 8 week course?

Anxiety and depression can leave us feeling isolated and alone, this course is an opportunity to meet and spend time with others in similar circumstances.

Learn ways to regulate the nervous system based on yogic techniques, to enable you to relax quickly and begin to undo neurologically entrained responses to thoughts and perceived threats.

The practices offered on the course can be learnt and engaged in without long-term guidance, allowing you to take your mental health into your own hands. Evidence based psycho-education about the body and mind support this sense of empowerment.

The mindfulness practices that are taught provide an opportunity to see through the habits that lead to suffering.

The course offers welcoming space where people can feel accepted by others and work on developing their own self-acceptance and compassion, all of which are imperative for healing.

Who Should Attend the Course?

  • Anyone with anxiety disorders and unipolar/bipolar depression
  • Individuals who are experiencing stress
  • Teachers or support workers with a wish to learn how to work with groups dealing with anxiety and/or depression

Can I do this course privately?

The Minded Institute believes all beings can be well and this specific course may not be appropriate for more serious mental- or physically limiting, chronic-health conditions. In these cases the 8 week course can be tailored to private or one-to-one yoga therapy. Please contact Becky for more information.
