I first discovered yoga in 2013.
My teacher asked me if I had considered becoming a teacher. I wanted to say yes but being an almost 60-year-old 110kg dyslexic man I felt it was not to be.
6 months later I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. After the surgery and a short break, I flew to Samyak Yoga in Mysore India. I did my first 200-hour teacher training there, then returned home for a year. I then went back to Himalayan Yoga Bliss in Darjeeling to do a further 300 hours.
I’ve been teaching regularly since 2017. There’s been other obstacles but in August this year (2024) I decided to give up full time work and follow my dream to become a full-time yoga teacher.
For me, teaching Yoga is about helping others find a calm and peaceful state of being.
