Yoga4Health 10-week course with Gill

Are you living with stress, anxiety or mild to moderate depression? Do you suffer from social isolation and loneliness? Or perhaps you feel like you want to gain more control over your own health and wellbeing?
The Yoga4Health evidence-based programme was commissioned by the NHS and created by the Yoga in Healthcare Alliance. It fuses the wisdom of ancient practices with modern medical science. The programme’s benefits have been validated by Westminster University.
Yoga4Health classes are inclusive and secular and do not promote any religious position.
The Yoga4Health on Prescription 10-week programme supports you to gain self-care skills by learning yoga postures and breathing, relaxation and mindfulness techniques. No prior experience or knowledge is needed, and the gentle stretching and strengthening yoga postures can be done in a chair or on a yoga mat.
This is an inclusive class where people with additional needs (this could be a disability, illness, injury etc.) are very welcome.
Each one of the 10 sessions is led by an expert Yoga4Health teacher and all sessions include the following:
Opening and closing group discussion
Breathing practices
Accessible yoga postures
Meditation and mindfulness
Relaxation
There will be handouts to take home with you for in between sessions that you can do at home – this can then be discussed as a group if you wish to share at the beginning of a session. These can be a good addition for you own self-care toolbox and continued self-practice at home prior to the course finishing.
The 10-week programme will take place on the same day and time every week at the Secret Space in the heart of Hertford
Please bring a blanket and your own mat, block and belt if you have one. However, if you are unable to, we have plenty of equipment you can borrow, except for blankets. Much of the course is seated and chairs are provided so all you need to do is bring yourself , your blanket, and your mat if you have one to get started.
Investment - pay what you can afford:
The charges for this course are usually £120 (£12 per session paid in advance), however, with the funding from HCF we are able to offer a sliding scale for charges, £100, £50 or £25 for the 10-week programme, payable in advance.
If you are experiencing financial difficulties, or are unable to pay at all, please let us know when you apply, and we will make arrangements to stagger your payments, or for you to attend free of charge.
Drop-in sessions:
If you have previously attended one of our Yoga4Health courses, you are welcome to attend individual sessions on a drop-in basis at the reduced rate of £10 per session. Just give us a call and we'll book you in.
