Ethanie - Yoga Teacher
I started practising yoga when I was 16, following DVDs and videos (yes, good old VHS!), but I never went beyond the poses (āsanas). To me it was a new form of exercise which just felt good.
It wasn’t until I was 22 years old and suffering with anxiety that I went to my first in-person Hatha class. It was a great way to focus my mind and quiet the mind chatter, even if just for that hour and a half.
From Hatha I explored Vinyasa, Ashtanga and Iyengar. All 3 have taught me about self-enquiry in differing ways; the use of the breath and its synergy with movement; alignment; and letting go of the ego.
In 2018 I completed the British Wheel of Yoga Foundation course with Eliane Codiroli. From there I took a leap of faith and joined the 350 hour British Wheel of Yoga and Yoga Alliance acredited teacher training at triyoga under Anna Ashby, Tony Watson, Chris Swain and Daniel Simpson. Exploring Ãsana, Anatomy & Physiology, and History & Philosophy.
I teach alignment focused Hatha and always allow enough time for a (in my opinion) much needed śavāsana. I look forward to meeting you.
