Holly first discovered yoga in a typical, expected way for a busy twenty-something working in London; searching for a balm amongst the chaos and sitting at a desk all day. Like many it was vinyasa classes and popular hot, hot yoga that first got her hooked, followed by finding her teachers and beginning her journey on her teacher training.
Holly has trained in both traditional Tantric Hatha with her teachers Katherine Girling & Everett Newall and also Embodied Yoga, under the nurturing guidance of Satu Tuomela, which takes a more curious dive inward and somatic approach to how we explore yoga asana, this taught her how to better vocalise invitations through cues to allow students to be in postures from a place of enquiry, rather than how they look. Along with her recent training in the Rocket Yoga systems with Katarina Rayburn & Helen Russel Clark, Holly feels she can offer a balance of yoga that is rooted in traditions, gives space to explore our inner landscapes but also offers the chance to practice along with curated playlists in a more fun and dynamic way.
Holly hopes her yoga will allow you to move at your own pace whilst also exploring the body as a portal to certain senses and experiences through asana- whether moving dynamically or restoratively- there are stories and whispers to feel into and to also be with the body in the present moment in any types of shapes, new and familiar, that we explore through yoga asana.
Think fluid flows, layered with longer holds, repetition of sequence to explore and re visit, guided, accessible pranayama and rest. Holly hopes she has a simple approach to her classes honouring the traditions of the yoga practice and full respect of the science and magic behind it all; nothing beats shared energy and breath in a sacred, held space and Holly always ensures this is invited and cultivated in her classes.
