I am so happy to be welcomed into the Secret Space yoga team as being able to share within a community means a great deal. Yoga is my passion and I enjoy mixing styles to create a yoga fusion of movement, energy and Spiritual practices, weaving stories and philosophy into the sessions.
My yoga practice has evolved over the many years of studying and practicing yoga in all of it wonderful various forms and my sadhana practice has taken me to greater spiritual understandings and depths with all the beautiful philosophy and teachings:
I use the physical asana practice to release emotional blocks from my body firstly. You could say I use my practice like a sat nav to bring me home, that’s why I chant the mantra ‘sat nam’ to bring me home to my true identity (sat meaning truth.) Our true identity is one of love and happiness it’s not something that we find outside of ourselves and it’s using these practices that really helps us uncover that truth and it’s my pleasure to be able to share these teachings with you.
I have been a practicing yogi for around 35 or more years and teaching for over 15 years in London, Herts and Essex. I am British Wheel of Yoga trained in London, Ashtanga trained in Rishikesh, India, qualified in Yin yoga and Thai Yoga Massage and have completed many other courses in yoga and healing.
What is Shamanic Yoga?
The shamanic and yoga practices work in perfect synchronicity and I have weaved the different styles and techniques into a fusion of shamanic yoga working around the medicine wheel with different power animals.
You can expect a totally different feeling in each class with a guided journey (meditation) to finish.
We work with the medicine wheel to help understand the cycles and interconnectedness of all life, which we can align with for our personal growth and healing. The turning of the wheel during the seasons reminds us of the cyclical nature of existence. It teaches us to embrace change, to find beauty and wisdom in the constant change , and to trust in the process of life.
