Drawing for a Calm Mind

2 hr workshop with Artist Kelly Briggs

Join Kelly to relax, notice, then release..

Drawing for a calm mind

A workshop of practical techniques to acknowledge and calm the mind. Creating using your hands is proven to improve brain and mind health by increasing the production of serotonin, oxytocin and dopamine. This workshop will pair expressive drawing with time for introspection that will give you techniques for calming the mind in your daily life as well as during the session.

You will be welcomed into the space free of judgement and without any prior knowledge of drawing. The focus will be on the process and a means to releasing thoughts and emotions you're holding rather than drawing to create a perfect picture.

This session is perfect for you if:

  • You struggle with a racing mind and would benefit from practical meditation techniques

  • You would like to create more space for yourself to focus your mind

  • You're in search of a creative outlet and would like to try something newThis is an immersive workshop where we will be using large paper and drawing materials to unblock any trapped energy though expressive drawing. Using the power of imagination and the theory of chakras we will be focusing on colour as a way to connect to ourselves and our surroundings.

This session is perfect for you if:

  • You're looking for practical techniques for meditation

  • You would like to create more space for yourself to focus your mind

  • You're in search of an expressive outlet and would like to try something new

About Kelly Briggs:

An artist and yogi living in Welwyn, Kelly is a graduate of MA art and science at Central Saint Martins and founder of 'Innerscape' art for wellbeing. She is passionate about creating space for wellbeing through creativity, specifically for audiences who might feel disconnected from art and creativity in their daily lives.

Kelly on Kelly:

Connecting to one another and our surroundings is at the heart of my practice as an artist. Alongside working in my studio on large scale abstract works, I wholeheartedly believe that artistic expression should be accessible to anyone with an open mind. This is why I have developed Innerscape art for wellbeing sessions.

What people say about Kelly’s workshops:

"It’s the first time I have opened up and not worried what anyone thought of me for a long time. "

"Kelly created a safe space allowing me to really open up and express myself both creatively and emotionally. She was a wonderful guide throughout the whole experience."
