Connecting Within: An afternoon of Yoga and Art

with Angela Zia

Connecting within' brings together the practice of yoga and the creativity of mandala art with the aim of:

  • Connecting you into the present moment through yoga

  • Exploring your creative side

  • Observing and traversing blocks faced and what shows up for you

  • Bringing more self-kindness to our inner world

Mandala, which means 'circle' in sanskrit are geometric designs that hold significance in various cultures. Used to aid slowing down, focusing of the mind, relaxation and self-expression.

You will create your own mandala to take away to aid in contemplation or to gift to another.

Join us for a rejuvenating afternoon of movement, creativity and connection…and let’s have some fun along the way!

What to expect

  • 2-2.10pm - Welcome, check in and intention setting for the afternoon.

  • 2.10-3.10pm Yoga Session. Begin with a hatha yoga class weaving in the theme of circles. This session is designed to awaken your body, calm your mind and bring you into the now.

  • 3.10-4.10pm Mindful art workshop. Explore your creativity and dive into the intricate and meditative art of mandala drawing.

  • 4.10-4.30pm Group reflection and closing meditation

What to bring 

  • Water

  • Yoga mat and cushion if you have them, or use the Secret Space ones

  • While colour pens and pencils will be provided please feel free to bring your own

  • An open mind

Suitable for: Everyone is welcome - no experience necessary and guidance will be provided.

About Angela:

Angela Zia is a yoga teacher, life coach and artist.

 For over a decade, Angela has brought a wealth of experience and expertise in guiding groups and individuals towards physical and mental wellness.

 Her yoga practice began in 2008. She later trained with the Sivananda organisation (2013) and Chi Kri (2016) in classical Hatha yoga. Angela’s classes are breath-led, cultivating self-awareness and healthy alignment, and her methodical approach is easy to follow. Angela works with private clients and past corporate clients include NHS England and University of London.

 Art and creativity has been a constant throughout her life and she spends her spare time drawing mandalas and leading creative workshops.

 By combining her passions, Angela aims to empower individuals to unlock their full potential, get creative and make space for self-enquiry to enhance ones journey through life.
