Easing into backbends - a heart opening practice
Studio workshop with Adrienne
Saturday 20th May
15:00-17:30
This workshop is a chance to work from basic poses to develop your backbend practice. Backbends are the most energising and uplifting of all the yoga Asana and they help to keep the spine supple as well as opening the chest and heart, increasing breath capacity. As backbends can be challenging, both physically and emotionally, we approach them slowly and with patience.
Join us in this longer workshop where we explore the Iyengar methods for practicing backbends with support from yoga props in a safe way. Variations will be given to suit the individual. This workshop is suitable for those with a basic yoga practice ready to take-on backbends, and for more experienced practitioners looking to understand backbends in more depth.
